in Northampton in 1961 Adrian studied an Honours Degree in Fine
Art at Gwent College of Higher Education in Newport, South Wales
where he specialised mainly in painting and printmaking, with
photography at that time still much a peripheral activity for
graduating, he became increasingly interested in working with
photography and eventually moved into working exclusively in this
years working as a documentary photographer on the Northamptonshire
Heritage Interpretation Project in the mid 1980s was followed
by a number of artist’s residencies and part time lecturing
posts before moving into full time teaching whilst continuing
to pursue his own art practice.
has exhibited his work regularly since 1984 in a variety of collaborative,
group and one-man shows both nationally and regionally. Adrian
taught photography at Milton Keynes College for over 20 years
and was Head of Art, Design & Media there for ten years until
2011. He was then Director of leading community arts charity Inter-Action
MK until establishing “Phoenix Rising MK”
an arts based organisation offering creative opportunities for
people with learning disabilities and support needs, based at
Arts Central MK.
continues to pursue his own personal photographic practice.
